Import/Export
Import/Export enables you to:
- Keep your system's tax data current through automatic or manual content updates.
- Quickly import and export large amounts of non-transaction data.
Common uses of Import/Export are to:
- Import monthly US and International Content Updates from Thomson Reuters. You can configure this importation to be wholly or partially automated, or you can download and install updates manually.
- Back up a Determination company.
- Move data between instances of the same Determination version (by exporting and re-importing data). The current compatibility version is G, which spans releases from version 5.0.0.0 to the current release.
- Create import files so that you can upload data from your ERP system to Determination. Data types include exemption certificates, customers, licenses, materials, products, product mapping files, and others.
For more information, see how to use Import/Export pages to import and export data, configure automatic content updates, and view the history of imports and exports.
You do not need to understand the underlying data interchange structure to back up data or move data between instances, or to load content updates from Thomson Reuters. However, to successfully import data from your source system for use in Determination, you must ensure that it is in the format expected by Import/Export.
